Richmond, Va. (WRIC) -- It is a chilly morning, and many folks are dodging showers on their morning commutes. If you have travel plans today, be mindful of rain chances for the first half of the day. Isolated showers will be in the forecast through noon, then rain chances will disappear.

ll clear and give way to sunshine this afternoon with highs in the mid 50s. Overnight lows will be near 40.
Christmas eve will start with temperatures near 40° and they will climb to the upper 50s for the afternoon. Skies will be mostly sunny, with increasing cloud cover in the afternoon and evening.
Christmas eve night the forecast is great for Santa! Temperatures will drop slowly into the upper 30s for Christmas morning. Stray showers are possible, but Santa can handle them!
Christmas day will start in the upper 30s and we will end up in the upper 50s for Christmas afternoon. Showers remain in the forecast, but they are still trending very isolated in nature. If you really don't want to get wet, keep an umbrella with you for Christmas activities.
Friday, the forecast has changed. Friday is now forecast to be chilly, with highs in the 40s and showers on and off throughout the day. This weekend is still forecast to be "warm" as far as December goes, with highs nearing 60°. Sunday we are tracking a cold front that will bring another round of showers. This will plunge our temperatures for the start of next week - the last few days of 2025 may be chilly!
