A Menasha police spokesman confirmed that the victim in a Friday morning assault is still alive, even though two men were booked into the Winnebago County jail on murder charges.Jail records show that the men were booked on char ges of first degree reckless homicide. However, Matt Roe, community liason officer for the Menasha police, said the charges recommended by investigators are first-degree attempted homicide, recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery, damage to property, and disorderly contact.Roe could not say why jail records indicate the men were held on charges of reckless homicide.Investigators said in an official release that the attack occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Water Street.
