LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Lexington woman accused of trafficking large amounts of marijuana and putting others at risk with a firearm has entered a not guilty plea in Fayette District Court. Rachel Abner appeared via Zoom from the Fayette County Detention Center on Monday for her arraig nment. Court records show Abner is charged with first-degree trafficking in marijuana (greater than five pounds), drug paraphernalia – buy or possession, and first-degree wanton endangerment. Her arrest citation states police executed a search warrant at a residence on Reynolds Road just after midnight on Dec. 21. Officers allege Abner was found in possession of approximately 15 pounds of marijuana, along with multiple boxes of Ziploc bags, which police say are commonly used in narcotics trafficking. According to the citation, investigators also reported finding two handguns and an AR-style pistol inside the residence. Police allege Abner admitted to handling a Glock handgun that was discharged inside the apartment, with the round entering a neighboring apartment where two occupants were sitting in their living room. No injuries were reported, according to the citation. During Monday’s hearing, Abner entered a not guilty plea. Her bond was set at $5,000, and she is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 30.
