Cheers… to Trevor Lawrence for a star-making performance. The former No. 1 overall pick and heir apparent out of Clemson has had what can generously be described as an up-and-down first few seasons in the NFL, but he is beginning to look like the franchise savior Jacksonville thought it was get ting and Sunday’s performance to snap the Broncos’ win streak is a big reason why. Lawrence outdueled Bo Nix, throwing for 279 yards and three touchdowns, with one fewer mistake, proving he, not Nix or the Patriots’ Drake Maye, is the second-scariest quarterback in the AFC playoff picture, behind the Bills’ Josh Allen. Boo… Riley Moss. It’s unfair and unfortunate, really. The much maligned Denver cornerback has played better than his total penalties would suggest and in the first half of Sunday’s game, Moss was balling out and making every play he needed to in the open field. Harvey has yet to go over 100 yards in a game this season, but his increased workload week-after-week is a sign Sean Payton trusts him. With 11 total touchdowns now on the season, it’s easy to see why.  Boo…the injury gods, yet again. This was supposed to be the Colorado homecoming for one of the greatest college football players this state has ever seen, Travis Hunter. The Jaguars rookie is out for the season and in attendance on crutches, but last year’s Heisman Trophy winner deserved a chance to show out in a place that he has said became a second home to him during his time with the Buffaloes in Boulder. ...read more read less
