What to KnowA First Alert is in effect for our area on Friday, Dec. 19, until 8 p.m. for a strong storm that could potentially bring damaging wind gusts leading to power outages, along with morning downpours. Heavy rain hit the entire area Friday morning before moving out during the afternoon. The r ain led to flooding in parts of the Jersey Shore as well as a difficult morning commute for the Philadelphia region and surrounding suburbs.Strong gusty winds began to ramp up around 6 a.m. and will continue through the day with potential for some isolated wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph. This could lead to power outages as tree limbs or trees are blown down.As the wind changes direction, our mild morning temperatures near 60° will fall into the 40s in the afternoon.
