A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Philadelphia’s Cobbs Creek neighborhood overnight, police said. Léelo en español aquí The incident occurred on Friday, Dec. 19, shortly after midnight along the 100 block of South Cobbs Creek Parkway. A 50-year-old man who appeared t o be under the influence was sitting in the middle of the street, police said. The man tried to stand up when he was struck by a white car that was headed south on Cobbs Creek Parkway. That vehicle then fled the scene, according to investigators. Medics transported the victim to the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:45 a.m. Police have not released the victim’s identity. They described the hit-and-run vehicle as a white sedan with a sunroof but did not reveal any additional details.
