Dec 19, 2024 morning forecast with Tara Hastings INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Slick spots this morning on some of those untreated surfaces like sidewalks and neighborhood roadways. Chilly today but warmer conditions head this way for the weekend. Even warmer for Christmas where we could get close to record readings. TODAY: Temperatures dropped dramatically overnight and some light flurries have led to slick spots out on some of the sidewalks. There was not much snow, only around a half inch but it is causing some isolated dangerous spots this morning.  The snow showers move off to the east of us later this morning. It will continue to be cloudy and blustery for the first part of the day. Look for sunshine later this afternoon with high temperatures climbing near 27. Wind chill values will likely stay into the teens through much of the day. Wind speeds will be very gusty this morning near 40 mph and slowly taper off during the afternoon hours. TONIGHT: Skies will be partly cloudy tonight and temperatures will fall right around 24 degrees. TOMORROW: Warmer conditions this way for your weekend. Look for partly cloudy skies on Saturday it is going to be pretty breezy with winds gusting at times near 20 mph. High temperatures will be near 47 degrees.  7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: Partly cloudy skies on Sunday with high temperatures right around 35. Warmer temperatures head this way for Christmas week. Look for partly cloudy skies on Monday with a chance for some showers late in the evening on Monday. If you are going to Lucas Oil Stadium for the Colts and the 49ers you may need the rain gear.  High temperatures will be near 40 degrees. Warmer readings with fifties on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain chances possible on Tuesday. On Christmas Day we could see near record readings.
