A Fog Advisory is in effect for our coastal communities through Friday at 8 a.m. due to dense fog reducing visibility to one quarter mile or less at times. Driving conditions may be hazardous, so slow down and use your low beams. If you are heading to the airport, be sure to check for possible fligh t delays. A cooling trend arrives Friday and continues into the weekend, but daytime highs will remain above average. The mountains and deserts will be the warmest areas, with temperatures running about 10 to 18 degrees above normal for this time of year. Overall, it should be a pleasant weekend to finish up any last-minute Christmas shopping. Looking ahead, a moderate to strong storm associated with an atmospheric river is expected to impact the area from Tuesday through Thursday. The heaviest rainfall is most likely on Christmas Eve, which could bring an increased risk of flooding, slick roads, and travel delays.  We’ll continue to refine the timing and rainfall totals as we get closer.
