(KRON) -- A staple of a small Solano County community is shutting down after more than 60 years. The Point Restaurant is permanently closing at the end of the month, the establishment announced in a social media post. The Point's final day of service will be on Sunday, Dec. 28. The restaurant will remain open that day as long as guests keep ordering, it said. The establishment said it was unable to reach an agreement on its lease for the space on 120 Marina Drive. The Point also cited challenges in today's economy as a reason for closing. Beloved Walnut Creek Yacht Club might now have found its replacement It is with heavy hearts that we announce that The Point Restaurant will be closing. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach an agreement on our new lease, and with the challenges of the current economy, we've made the difficult decision to close our doors. We are deeply grateful for your support and loyalty over the past 50 years -- serving this community has been a great privilege for everyone involved. Thank you for dining with us, and being a part of our story.
