PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- The Virginia Live! Casino coming to Petersburg is extending its hiring search to the River City. The company held a job fair Thursday, Dec. 18 to recruit people for the hundreds of positions they still have open ahead of the opening of their temporary casino facility in Ja nuary. “We would love to bring on another 200 team members,” said VP of Human Resources Trish Tuck. “There certainly is a rush because we’re gonna open on January 22nd, so we’d love to get everybody hired.”Open positions include security ambassadors, cocktail servers and table dealers. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, and be able to get their lottery license. The temporary casino opening is still pending regulatory approval, but it’s been promised to generate 500 jobs. Recruitment has been in progress for months, including job fairs, a hiring center and a table dealer school in Petersburg. But Live! said they still haven’t been able to fill all their positions. “We are looking for aces in customer service,” Tuck said. “We are looking for people who have a heart of service, who love taking care of customers and have a positive and upbeat attitude.” Interested job seekers can also apply online at https://www.livech.com/Virginia/Careers or apply in person at the Live!
