(CNN)– U.S. consumers got some good financial news heading into the holiday season.
Inflation eased last month, measuring at 2.7% compared to the year before.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says that’s down from 3% in September, and is the lowest the rate has been since July.
But some e
conomists say people shouldn’t read too much into those numbers because the economic data has been thrown-off by the government shutdown.
The Consumer Price Index for October wasn’t calculated at all due to the shutdown.
