A 12-year-old was stabbed in the chest and rushed to a hospital in Brooklyn, and it is believed a younger child may have carried out the attack, according to law enforcement sources. The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. near Dumont Avenue and Thomas Boyland Street in Brownsville, officials sa id. It was not immediately clear what may have led up to it, but at some point the 12-year-old was stabbed in the chest and taken to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition, law enforcement sources said. Preliminary details about the possible suspect described the person as a boy about 9 or 10 years old, according to sources. The boy believed to be responsible for the stabbing took off from the scene immediately afterward. No arrests have yet been made, but sources said that two juveniles were taken into custody.
