(KRON) -- A portion of Westbound Highway 37 in Vallejo is shut down through Thursday afternoon so that a broken railroad track can be repaired, according to Caltrans. The closure is in place on westbound Highway 37 at Highway 29 and runs through Highway 37 at Highway 121. The roadway is expected to reopen at 4 p.m., transit officials said. The eastbound lanes of Highway 37 remain open. (Caltrans) Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. Caltrans said drivers can use Highway 29, continue onto Highway 12, connect to Highway 121 and then merge back onto Highway 37 to detour the closure. The California Highway Patrol first received reports of the SMART railroad track issue at around 5:13 a.m. According to an incident log, multiple vehicles had pulled over with possible flat tires after passing through the section of railroad that cuts across Highway 37. (CHP Marin) Motorists should expect delays in the area. ...read more read less
