A mid-December wind storm pushed into Colorado on Wednesday, prompting power outages, school and business closures and traffic impacts for most of the day. Winds blew steadily between 25-35 mph, but some gusts pushed over 100 mph in Colorado’s high country. The wind began picking up speed i n the late morning/early afternoon in the foothills west of Denver, Boulder and Loveland, fueled by a passing cold front north of Colorado.
