Check out Detour, the new Hollywood nightclub built on the legacy of the former Adults Only

Hollywood nightlife loves a reinvention and new club Detour is leaning into that with confidence. Taking over the former Adults Only space, Detour is a dramatic, mood-forward reset that feels aimed at late-night Angelenos who care as much about vibes as they do about sound.

Guests enter through a tunnel-like passage that heightens anticipation before opening into the main room, a slow reveal that sets the tone for what’s inside. The club’s redesign creates a tactile space that invites people to settle into the rhythm of the night rather than rush through it.

“Adults Only was an important chapter for us, demonstrating a clear appetite for dynamic nightlife in Hollywood,” said Freddy Braidi, CEO of Boulevard Hospitality Group, in an official statement. “Detour builds on that foundation, evolving the creative direction, the music, and the overall guest experience.”
Tile, velvet, glass block, stone, wood paneling, stainless steel and mirrors work together to balance warmth and edge, giving the room texture without visual clutter. Neutral tones dominate, allowing subtle flashes of color to land with impact. Pops of green and merlot appear in fabrics, while green tiles in the bathrooms offer a perfect background for the inevitable mirror selfies. The result is a space that feels cohesive and coolly confident.

Lighting plays a crucial role in shaping the mood. Low and indirect, it combines a base layer of LEDs with glass chandeliers that cast a soft, even glow across the room. There are no harsh spotlights here, just enough illumination to keep the energy intimate and fluid as the night unfolds. Architectural anchors like the tiled bar and a glass-block installation wrapping around the stage help focus attention where it belongs, drawing the crowd toward the music and the moment.

At its core, Detour is all about music-forward nights out, with its textured surfaces subtly shaping the sound and a layout that encourages energy to build organically and stay steady. Everything combines into an environment that feels visceral and immersive, as much about aesthetics as it is about the beat.
Detour is open Thursdays through Saturdays, 10pm to 2am at 7065 W. Sunset Blvd. For more information, click here.
