(KRON) -- A 40-year-old Union City woman accused of shooting a teenage boy last month has been charged with attempted murder. Xiaojie Zhang was arrested at her home on a Ramey warrant last month after allegedly shooting a 17-year-old boy on Talavera Drive in San Ramon on Nov. 23. The San Ramon Vall ey Fire Protection District responded to the incident and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper shoulder. He was treated at a local hospital and released. Zhang was arraigned in Superior Court in Martinez Tuesday on a five-count felony complaint for attempted murder, stalking, child abuse, and criminal threats, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office. Zhang entered a plea of not guilty for the attempted murder of the victim, who was identified in court documents as John Doe. Zhang, according to the DA, is also being charged with one count of stalking another confidential victim and making criminal threats. The charges come with enhancements for intentionally discharging a firearm to cause great bodily injury as well as using a firearm in commission or attempted commission of the offense.
