The National Weather Service forecast for the greater Bay Area for Wednesday calls for most areas in the region to get chances of rain during the day, while cloudy skies and fog will prevail at night. Daytime highs will be mostly in the mid 60s on the coast, high 50s to mid 60s around the bay, an d in the low to high 60s inland. Overnight lows will be mostly in the high 40s to low 50s. Forecasters say rain will return to the Bay Area early Wednesday morning, starting in the North Bay before spreading south. The band of rain is expected to begin to weaken by late morning and early afternoon as it reaches the South Bay and Santa Cruz County. Overall, rainfall is expected to be light, with showers affecting the North Bay and parts of the wider Bay Area. Forecasters say the wet pattern will continue later in the week.
