A wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 1:33 p.m. valid from Friday midnight until Saturday midnight for Northern Westchester, Southern Westchester, Richmond (Staten Is.), Kings (Brooklyn), Northwest Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk, Northern Queens, Northern Nassau, Sou thern Queens and Southern Nassau as well as Orange, Putnam, Rockland, New York (Manhattan) and Bronx counties.The weather service adds to be ready for, "For late Thursday night into Friday morning, south winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. There may be a brief period early Friday morning where heavy showers and thunderstorms bring isolated damaging wind gusts. For Friday evening and night, northwest winds at 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph." ...read more read less
