On Wednesday at 12:35 p.m. an updated wind advisory was released by the National Weather Service valid from Thursday 7 p.m. until Saturday 1 a.m. for Northern Herkimer, Southern Herkimer, Southern Fulton, Northern Saratoga, Northern Warren, Northern Washington, Eastern Schenectady, Southern Saratoga
, Western Albany, Eastern Albany, Western Rensselaer, Eastern Rensselaer, Western Greene, Eastern Greene, Western Columbia, Eastern Columbia, Western Ulster, Eastern Ulster, Western Dutchess, Eastern Dutchess, Northern Fulton, Southeast Warren and Southern Washington as well as Hamilton, Montgomery and Schoharie counties."South to southwest winds 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected for late Thursday Night into early Friday and Westerly winds 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected for late Friday morning through late Friday evening," explains the weather service. "The highest winds gusts within the south to southwesterly flow on Thursday night into early Friday morning will be across the higher elevations. All areas will see widespread gusty winds later Friday morning through late Friday evening."
