am and Haley Bechtel have expanded their business from local farmers markets to retail locations across the country and even internationally since starting in 2014. The popcorn is grown on their family farm in Burlington, Indiana, and processed in nearby Flora.
“It’s really neat,” said Adam, reflecting on the expansion of their business. “I mean, I grew up on the family farm, and so we literally go out, we plant the popcorn, we harvest the popcorn, our kids get to ride in the tractor with us.”

The popcorn from Poppin’ Cobs is packaged with a cob, a microwave bag, and a seasoning packet. To prepare, you place the cob in the bag, fold it over twice, and microwave it for about two minutes. The result is a full bowl of popcorn, which can be enjoyed plain or with added butter or olive oil for seasoning.
Adam and Haley’s journey began when they discovered that popcorn could be popped directly on the cob. They initially hand-picked their first crop and sold it at local farmers markets. Over the years, they have expanded their reach, now selling their popcorn in grocery stores and boutique shops nationwide, and even shipping internationally.
Poppin’ Cobs offers several flavors, including salted caramel.
Poppin’ Cobs has successfully turned a simple idea into a thriving business, bringing a unique and healthy snack option to consumers both locally and globally.
