Hunter Biden can no longer practice law in Connecticut after he was disbarred by a judge on Monday. The 55-year-old son of former President Joe Biden was convicted of three felonies for purchasing a gun in Delaware in 2018 when prosecutors said he lied about his drug use on a federal application. He consented to being disbarred for attorney misconduct, but admitted no criminal wrongdoing. In California, he pleaded to dodging at least $1.4 million in federal taxes in 2024, but received a wide-ranging pardon from his father, who left office in January. A Connecticut judge ruled Monday that Biden violated multiple ethical standards for attorneys including engaging in behavior “involving dishonesty.” In May, Biden was also disbarred after agreeing to surrender his legal license in Washington, D.C., roughly 18 years after joining the bar in the nation’s capital. He was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1997 after graduating from Yale Law School. The Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel noted the former president’s son had been pardoned. Biden published a memoir in 2021 chronicling his struggles with substance abuse and indiscretions. He wrote that he was raised in a family “forged by tragedies and bound by a remarkable, unbreakable love.” Biden told a federal court he was rendered homeless by fires in Malibu that destroyed his house earlier this year, according to Realtor.com. In addition to having been a lawyer, Biden has also worked as a painter. With News Wire Services  ...read more read less
