Rob Reiner’s daughter, Tracy Reiner, has shared her reaction to the stunning death of the famed director and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. Both were found dead Dec. 14 in their Los Angeles home, a source close to the family told NBC News. “I came from the greatest family ever,” Tracy Reiner told NBC News. “I don’t know what to say, I’m in shock.” Tracy Reiner added that she had just seen her father a day earlier at a family gathering. They did not identify them, but a source close to the Reiner family told NBC News that the couple was found dead from what appeared to be stab wounds. Paramedics were called to Reiner’s Los Angeles home around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 14, and then police officers were dispatched. Rob Reiner was the director of classic films like “The Princess Bride,” “When Harry Met Sally,” “A Few Good Men,” “Stand by Me,” “This is Spinal Tap,” “Misery” and more. “Misery” star Kathy Bates expressed her condolences in a statement to NBC News after hearing the “terrible news.” “Absolutely devastated,” she said. “I loved Rob. He was brilliant and kind, a man who made films of every genre to challenge himself as an artist. He also fought courageously for his political beliefs. He changed the course of my life. Michelle was a gifted photographer. She shot my beautiful photos for the Misery campaign. My heart breaks for them both.” Rob Reiner also was a comedic actor known for his role on the iconic sitcom “All in the Family” and appearances in dozens of movies, including “The Wolf of Wall Street” and most recently the sequel to “Spinal Tap.” He also was in four episodes of the Hulu hit “The Bear” this year. Tracy Reiner, 61, is one of Rob Reiner’s four children. She was adopted by him during his marriage to late director Penny Marshall, whom he divorced in 1981. He and Michele Singer Reiner, whom he married in 1989, were the parents of three children, sons Nick and Jake and daughter Romy. In 2016, Rob Reiner directed the film called “Being Charlie” that was co-written by his son Nick. The movie follows a young man’s descent and recovery from drug addiction and was based on Nick’s own experiences with addiction.
