NFL Week 15 winners and losers: Bills' epic comeback, Chiefs' season ends
Dec 14, 2025
Frigid temperatures and snowy conditions were the story of Week 15.
As playoff fights heated up, teams across the league were faced with these challenges. From upsets to comebacks and devastating injuries, the NFL once again delivering a compelling slate of games.
Here are the winners and lose
rs from Sunday’s contests:
WINNER: Bills pull off epic comeback vs. Patriots
Everything was going the New England Patriots‘ way against the Buffalo Bills… until it wasn’t.
Josh Allen and Co. stormed back from 21-0 down to win 35-31, keeping their AFC East hopes alive with the road victory. The Bills scored touchdowns on five straight drives to re-take the lead with 6:48 to go, and they didn’t give it back. Allen led the way with three passing touchdowns, while James Cook had two on the ground for the 10-4 Bills — now just one game behind the Patriots.
Drake Maye, meanwhile, looked like a completely different player after a red-hot first-half. He finished 14 of 23 for 155 yards and an interception after two rushing touchdowns in the opening quarter. New England’s 10-game winning streak is finally over, with the 11-3 team being hit with a dose of reality ahead of the stretch run.
LOSER: Chiefs eliminated and Patrick Mahomes injured
The Kansas City Chiefs were eliminated from postseason contention for the first time since 2014 — and they might’ve lost their quarterback in the process.
While trailing the Los Angeles Chargers 16-13 in the final minutes, Patrick Mahomes suffered a knee injury that sent him back to the locker room. The Chargers then intercepted Gardner Minshew to clinch the victory, in yet another gutty performance by Jim Harbaugh’s 10-4 team.
Even before Mahomes’ injury, the Chiefs were continuing their stretch of sloppy play. The quarterback was 16 of 28 for 189 yards and an interception, and the offense averaged just 2.3 yards per carry on 21 attempts.
WINNER: Ravens aren’t done yet
A dominant running game and defensive performance got the Baltimore Ravens back on track Sunday.
Led by Derrick Henry’s 100 yards and a 95-yard pick-6, the Ravens rolled past the Cincinnati Bengals 24-0 to improve to 7-7 on the season. Baltimore’s season was on life-support following a brutal loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, but the team is still in the hunt with three games to play.
The same can’t be said about Joe Burrow and the Bengals, who were officially eliminated by dropping to 4-10. While the star quarterback missed most of the season, it was a year filled with close losses for Cincinnati. The Bengals lost four games by six points or less, which ultimately doomed their division hopes.
LOSER: Shedeur Sanders struggles vs. Bears
Following his best NFL game, Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders couldn’t do the same against the Chicago Bears.
Ben Johnson’s squad pulled off an easy 31-3 win, picking Sanders off three times and allowing just 14 of 29 passes to be completed. On the bright side for Cleveland, Myles Garrett added another 1.5 sacks to get to 21.5 sacks on the season — one away from tying the NFL record.
Caleb Williams was steady against a tough defense, completing 17 of 28 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns. D’Andre Swift was the star on the ground, rushing for 98 yards and two touchdowns as the Bears moved to 10-4 — their first double-digit win season since 2018.
WINNER: AFC South contenders handle their business
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans are battling for the AFC South title, and neither team slipped up in Week 15.
Trevor Lawrence put together another stellar performance in the Jags’ 48-20 win over the New York Jets. The former top pick was 20 of 32 for 330 yards, five passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and no turnovers. That marks five straight wins for Jacksonville, who is now 10-4 with its first 10-win season since 2017.
Over in Houston, C.J. Stroud got the scoring started early with a 57-yard touchdown to Nico Collins on the second play of the game. The Texans didn’t let up, rolling to a 40-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Now 9-5, Houston has won six straight and continues to solidify itself as an AFC playoff threat.
LOSER: Kenny Pickett’s revenge game
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kenny Pickett’s first start of the season, against his former team the Philadelphia Eagles, didn’t go according to plan.
The Eagles blew out the Raiders 31-0, with Pickett completing just 15 of 25 passes for 64 yards and an interception. Vic Fangio’s defense sacked Pickett four times in the stifling victory to snap Philly’s three-game losing skid. The Raiders, meanwhile, have lost eight straight to fall to 2-12.
On offense, the Eagles were efficient and calculated. Jalen Hurts was 12 of 15 for 175 yards with three touchdowns before letting back Tanner McKee finish the game. Saquon Barkley added 78 yards and a score on the ground for the 9-5 Eagles.
WINNER: 49ers’ Brock Purdy shines after bye
The San Francisco 49ers made it four straight wins in a 37-24 home result over the lowly Tennessee Titans. Coming off a Week 14 bye, Brock Purdy looked the sharpest he has all season amid a turf toe spell, throwing for 295 yards and three touchdowns on 23 of 30 completions. His lone mistake was a fumble while attempting a pass.
George Kittle and Ricky Pearsall delivered key receiving performances as San Francisco improved to 10-4 ahead of a brutal close. The 49ers will next face the Indianapolis Colts on the road before hosting the Bears and Seattle Seahawks. San Francisco may have a banged-up roster, but this stretch will reveal how far this team can push the limit.
Tennessee, meanwhile, dropped to 2-12 despite a solid effort from No. 1 overall rookie Cam Ward.
LOSER: Seahawks keep Philip Rivers close
Maybe Jason Myers should’ve had his own winner section, but this was a poor performance from Seattle. The Seahawks could only score field goals at home in an 18-16 win over the Philip Rivers-led Colts.
Sam Darnold threw for 271 yards but with no touchdowns or picks, while the running game was also nonexistent. Myers made all six of his field-goal attempts, including the game-winning 56-yarder just after Blake Grupe hit a 60-yarder to take the lead the other end.
Rivers — who threw for 120 yards and a touchdown on 18 of 27 completions — was picked off in the hopes of a late winning drive.
WINNER: Rams earn major NFC win
The Los Angeles Rams overcame a slow start at home to beat the Detroit Lions 41-34, moving to 11-3.
Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown jumped to a hot start for Detroit, but it was truly a tale of two halves as Matthew Stafford and Los Angeles’ run game turned the tide in the second half.
MVP candidate Stafford and the Super Bowl-contending Rams added to their resume with the win, while the Lions are now 8-6 and slowly fading from the playoff race.
LOSER: Panthers blow NFC South opportunity
Following Tampa Bay’s stunning collapse on Thursday, the Carolina Panthers received a huge chance to capitalize and take control of the NFC South. They botched it.
The New Orleans Saints came from behind at home to stun the Bryce Young-led team, as Charlie Smyth hit a field goal late to steal it.
Carolina is now 7-7 alongside Tampa Bay, while the Saints have won two straight (against the aforementioned rivals) to be 4-10. Tyler Shough is giving New Orleans some hope for the future; can he sustain it?
WINNER: Bo Nix stars vs. Packers
The Denver Broncos hosted the Green Bay Packers in a big test for both teams, but moreso the former. Bo Nix did not let down, especially on a day where the Patriots saw their 10-game win streak end.
Denver made it 11 straight wins with a 34-26 result, as Nix threw 302 yards, four touchdowns and no picks while RJ Harvey turned in another solid ground game.
Denver is now 12-2, while Jordan Love and the Packers are 9-4-1. Love threw two picks, something he can’t keep doing in big games if he wants to go the next level with his team.
On the other hand, Micah Parsons is believed to have torn his left ACL. That could end Green Bay’s Super Bowl hopes just like that.
