(KRON) — The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating a deadly crash on Highway 17 in Santa Cruz County near Vine Hill Road, roughly 5.5 miles south of Santa Clara County. Authorities temporarily shut down the northbound side of Highway 17. One lane has since reopened. “Please avoid the area and take alternate routes,” CHP said.
