SISSETON, S.D. – The Mobridge-Pollock Tigers fell to the Sisseton Redmen 50-47 Saturday inside Ben Reifel gymnasium. In a back and forth contest the Tigers fall at the end dropping to 0-1 to start their season.
Both squads had very impressive performances in this one but standing out especially do
wn low in the second half was our Riverside Home Furnishing Player of the Game Vincent Donnell. Derrick Flute also had an excellent game making a couple long range threes helping the Redmen keep up with the Tigers in stretches. For Mobridge-Pollock it was Kyson Good Shield with the most impressive performance sinking two threes early, with last year’s returning starters Kale Knudson, Shooter Frederick, and Easton Eisemann all contributing on offense but down the stretch Sisseton stayed more consistent.
The first half of this game started with a lot of testing the water, looking for different looks inside and three point opportunities outside, but a lot of shots for both teams were not falling. The Redmen were up four going into halftime but a last second foul on Easton Eisemann gave him three free throws which he made to bring the score within one point. In the second half, it was more of the same but Sisseton was able to make a few more of their opportunities count late to take a two score lead with under a minute left and the Tigers could not recover giving Sisseton their first win of the season.
In their next time out Mobridge-Pollock will host Timber Lake Friday, December 19 for their second game of the season as part of a double header starting at 4:00 p.m.

Mobridge-Pollock had many impressive performers in the win but starting her season out hot just a few weeks after committing to play at Black Hills State University was our Riverside Home Furnishing Player of the Game Blake Thompson, getting involved in the scoring but shining on defense as well in the win. Faith Heil also had a very impressive effort in the paint early in this one drawing multiple and one opportunities against a Sisseton squad that was much bigger in the paint.
The first half of this game started out very close between both squads trading buckets and committing a lot of early fouls with both teams earning multiple free throw attempts early. The Lady Tigers flexed their quick offense gaining a lot of opportunities at the net while Sisseton started the game off playing bully ball down low trying to dominate in the paint. Mobridge-Pollock led by three at halftime but took over in the third quarter forcing multiple turnovers to go up by as much as 20.
