Firefighters with the CSFD, use a ladder truck to fight a 2-alarm structure fire was reported shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025. The fire occurred at a business at 3117 Century St, just north of Fillmore St. (The Gazette, Jerilee Bennett) A two-alarm fire at a business that sells b uilding materials sent plumes of smoke across Colorado Springs on Saturday. A pile of Styrofoam and other building materials caught fire at about 2:45 p.m. at Beacon Building Products in the 3100 block of Century Street on the city’s north side, Colorado Springs Fire Department officials said in a social media post. Firefighters contained the flames to the pile, with no injuries or damage reported to other buildings. They pulled a second alarm because of “the size of the fire and the need for additional resources,” the post states.
