INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A WINTER STORM WARNING is now in place for the majority of central Indiana from 11 AM ET today – 12 AM ET Sunday. 4-6″ of snow is anticipated for most, with isolated high
er amounts.
TODAY: Snow arrives west to east during the midday hours. Steady snow will continue through the afternoon and evening hours before wrapping up early on tonight. Temperatures will be falling from the upper 20s to the upper teens in the late afternoon. This will promote a fluffier snow that stacks up more easily.
TONIGHT: COLD WEATHER ADVISORY from 12 AM SUNDAY TO 1 PM SUNDAY. Snow moves out. Clouds decrease in the early morning hours. Low temperatures will bottom out near 0 degrees, if not just below. Wind chill values of -10 to -20 are possible.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny skies. Wind chill values may not get above 0 degrees. High temperature of 9 degrees in Indianapolis. The record cold high temperature for December 14 is 9 degrees (1963).
7-DAY FORECAST: Bitter cold air sticks around for Monday with another morning of below 0 degrees. Winds will not be as strong, though. As the week goes on, a warmup commences. By Thursday, showers are likely with high temperatures in the lower 50s.
