Palo Alto educator struck by hitandrun driver in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A Palo Alto school's dean of academic affairs was seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver while she was walking in San Francisco last week.
Erika Yeates is a beloved educator at Lydian Academy, a private middle school and high school, a verified GoFundMe page states. Yea
tes was walking with her partner on December 5 when she was struck by a car, and the driver fled the scene.
The San Francisco Police Department said the vehicle vs. pedestrian accident happened just after 11 p.m. in the area of 16th Street and Albion Street. Police described Yeates' injuries as "life threatening."
"She was rushed to the hospital for treatment of multiple fractures, lacerations, and a concussion," the page states.
No arrests have been made, SFPD told KRON4 Wednesday.
"Erika is a vital part of our Lydian community. She is the heart of the Palo Alto campus and, throughout her years at Lydian, has touched many lives - students, families, colleagues, faculty, and staff alike," the GoFundMe page writes.
Woman gives birth in San Francisco Waymo car
The page is raising donations to help cover the victim's medical bills as she remains in a hospital. More than $40,000 had been raised as of Wednesday afternoon.
