As medical services expand in Woodland Park, a result of growth and potential for clients, a pediatric dentist has joined the list. Ken Otterstedt, DDS, specializes in treating children. “Kids are not necessarily easier but they’re more fun to work with,” he said. In practice for the past 20 years, Otterstedt begins seeing youthful patients next month at Otter Kids in Woodland Park. After treating adults for several years, Otterstedt opted to study pediatric dentistry in Denver at Children’s Hospital Colorado, and going for job satisfaction. “You can effect change more easily with children,” he said. A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy who is currently serving his 12th year with the reserves, Otterstedt treated the children of the military while on while on active duty in Virginia. Back in Colorado, in 2014, Otterstedt worked as an associate in dental practices in Colorado Springs.   “I’ve had families who come down from Woodland Park and farther west, so it makes sense to be closer to them,” he said. “The big thing is that folks won’t have to drive down the pass.” With Otter Kids in both locations, Otterstedt is self-employed and sees patients in the Woodland Park office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 16, Feb. 20 and March 6 at 791 W. Kelley’s Rd., future dates to be announced. For information, check www.otterkidspediatricdentrisry.com or call (719) 642-6704. ...read more read less
