A baby was born inside a Waymo vehicle during a ride to a hospital in San Francisco, the company said Tuesday. Waymo said its remote rider support team detected unusual activity in the vehicle, called to check on the rider and then contacted 911. The Waymo completed the ride to UCSF, safely de livering the mother and newborn to hospital staff, the company said. “We’re proud to be a trusted ride for moments big and small, serving riders from just seconds old to many years young,” a Waymo spokesperson said in a statement. “We wish the new family all the best, and we look forward to safely getting them where they’re going through many of life’s events.” The Waymo was immediately removed from service for cleaning following the ride, the company said. ...read more read less
