Louisville ranked around the middle of WalletHub’s annual Best Worst Cities for Singles survey, coming in at No. 104 out of 182 cities analyzed for dating-friendliness in 2025. The yearly list analyzes cities across 35 parameters relating to affordability, recreation and dating prospects. Louisville and Indianapolis tied for the same rank with a total score of 50.44, according to WalletHub data. Louisville’s strongest showing was in its Fun Recreation area, where it placed 59th, surpassing its grades for economy (71st) and dating possibilities (141st). The nationwide study examines factors ranging from restaurant prices and job growth to nightlife density, public transit access and the share of single adults. Chip Lupo, a WalletHub analyst, said a city’s overall climate for dating plays a major role in how singles navigate relationships. “The already difficult process of finding the perfect partner can be made even tougher when cities lack the conditions necessary to make dating successful,” he said in the report. “The best cities for singles have large, gender-balanced single populations, along with a wide variety of indoor and outdoor, daytime and nighttime activities. They also have reasonable prices for dating activities or high average incomes to help ease the sting of inflation.” While cities like Atlanta, Las Vegas and Tampa took the top spots thanks to large single populations, robust entertainment options and accessible transportation, Louisville’s ranking suggests a mixed environment—plenty of recreation options, but tougher competition when it comes to finding and meeting potential partners. Louisville’s 141st-place placement in the “dating opportunities” area, which carried the greatest weight in the survey, was crucial to its overall standing. Metrics included gender balance among singles, the share of residents who are single, and indicators tied to online and mobile dating activity. WalletHub’s full report includes deeper city-by-city breakdowns, expert analysis on dating economics, and explanations of the scoring methodology.
