Striking teachers in the East Bay were back on the picket lines Monday morning after no deal was reached over the weekend. The West Contra Costa Unified School District teachers first walked off the job last Thursday. Both sides were reporting progress, and talks were ongoing toward a new agre ement, with negotiations set to resume in earnest on Tuesday.
