Browns rookie Mason Graham won’t let rib injury keep him down
Dec 05, 2025
Mason Graham did not practice Dec. 5 because he is dealing with tender ribs. He is listed as “questionable” for the game with the Titans on Dec. 7, which, by the NFL’s definition, means he has a 50-50 chance of playing.
There is no doubt in the mind of the rookie defensive tackle about which s
ide of that 50-50 he will be on when the 3-9 Browns host the 1-11 Titans at Huntington Bank Field.
“Just something lingering from the last game (against the 49ers), but I’m playing on Sunday,” Graham declared in the locker room after the Dec. 5 practice. “I want to be on the field with my guys.”
Some of Graham’s teammates are not as fortunate. Right guard Wyatt Teller is out with a calf injury. Right tackle Jack Conklin is out with a concussion. Defensive tackle Adin Hutchinson is out with a quad injury.
Teven Jenkins will start in place of Teller. KT Leveston will start at right tackle in place of Conklin. Jenkins and Leveston got extended playing time against the 49ers. Conklin was limited to 28 plays before being concussed. Teller was on the field for 31 snaps.
“Really how we finished in the game, so, feel good about those guys.” Coach Kevin Stefanski said. “We got KT later in the process. Obviously wasn’t with us through the spring and the summer, but he’s played meaningful snaps for us. Somebody that we trust. He brings a great physicality to the game, so fits in well.”
Leveston was acquired from the Rams on Aug. 26 for a seventh-round draft pick. Jenkins was signed as a free agent in March.
Graham being healthy enough to play is important because the Browns are already missing starting defensive tackle Maliek Collins. Collins suffered a severe quad injury playing the 49ers and had to be carted off the field. He was placed on injured reserve two days later.
The Collins injury means more playing time for Mike Hall and Shelby Harris. Hall last week played 22 snaps (33%). Harris played 32 snaps. Graham was the busiest of the defensive tackles with 49 snaps (73%) plus five more on special teams.
“I was very, very impressed by Mason in that (49ers) game,” defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said. “He played super, super hard. He was all over the field. I think every week we’re seeing better from him, and I think that was another big set. It’s only a matter of time before we start seeing that the level of play start equaling the production, stat sheet kind of stuff for Mason.”
Graham was credited with four tackles and one quarterback hit against in the 26-8 loss to the 49ers.
