The Kerrville Police Department announced it would be releasing the 911 calls from the deadly Hill Country flood that happened earlier this year and killed at least 136 people, including 25 girls and two counselors at Camp Mystic. The calls from July 4, 2025, are being released in their entirety without redaction, in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act requests that several media outlets completed, according to KPD. KPD said the decision to release the calls is governed by federal law, and each call was reviewed in regard to caller privacy and legal compliance.  CENTRAL TEXAS FLOOD Central Texas Flood Dec 3 Camp Mystic announces enhanced safety plans after death of 25 girls, 2 counselors Central Texas Flood Nov 18 Heaven's 27 families seek little-known trauma treatment Central Texas Flood Nov 10 Families sue Camp Mystic for negligence after children killed in summer flood Central Texas Flood Oct 16 Victims of July flooding in Texas struggling to get financial help from FEMA Central Texas Flood Oct 14 New legislative committees to ‘get to the bottom of' Texas flood that killed 136 Central Texas Flood Oct 14 Many summer camps ask agency to delay some rules passed after deadly floods Officials warn that the recordings contain disturbing content that some may find highly distressing. ...read more read less
