A damaged vessel washed ashore in La Jolla Thursday, prompting a U.S. Coast Guard San Diego Sector-led investigation in which five life vests were discovered. Around 7 a.m. Thursday, USCG personnel were notified about an unmanned boat near Windansea Beach, according to San Diego lifeguards who we re on duty.
