Shooting Thursday Morning at Lincoln Convenience Store Turns Deadly

ith non life-threatening injuries following a shooting late Thursday morning at a convenience store south of downtown Lincoln.
LPD Lt. Dustin Romshek told KFOR News officers were called shortly after 11am to the Casey’s off of 13th and “E” Street, where shots were fired inside the store. Based on their preliminary investigation, Romshek says there was a disturbance between the suspected shooter and a male out in the parking lot. The shooting took place inside the store, where the victim suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a Lincoln hospital, where he later died.
The second shooting victim was a male patron of the store and suffered non life-threatening wounds. Romshek says the suspect is in custody and was at the scene when he surrendered his weapon to officers. No one else inside the store was hurt.
At 6pm Thursday, LPD provided an update and said officers arrested 23-year-old Emanuel Greenwalt-Claypool of Lincoln. He has been arrested for 2nd degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony and 2nd degree assault.
