Plus, there’s holiday fireworks and karaoke at the Wharf.   Best Things to Do This Weekend December 4-7 “Step Afrika!’s Magical Musical Holiday Step Show.” This high-energy dance showcase highlights the African American tradition of stepping. Expect spectacular flips, stomps, and choreography set to hip-hop holiday beats. The performance is interactive, so you’ll be on your feet along with DJ Nutcracker (Fri through December 23, $59+, Southwest DC). Georgetown Jingle. Georgetown Jingle rings in winter cheer with 15 pop-up outdoor choral, jazz, and RB performances across 11 neighborhood locations. Neighbors can listen in on a concert at locations such as Georgetown Lutheran Church, Maman Streatery, and 1310 Kitchen and Bar (Sat, free, Georgetown). Holiday Boat Parade and Party at the Wharf. Every December, The Wharf sets the sky and Washington Channel aglow with festive fireworks, and a shimmering fleet of more than 60 decked-out boats. In addition to the must-see parade, visitors get to meet Santa, craft ornaments, snap photos of a holiday tree built with Jack Daniel’s barrels, drink hot toddies, and sing along to carols at karaoke (Sat, free, Wharf). Heurich Christmas Markt. If you are looking to shop small, you’ll love Heurich House Museum’s traditional Christmas Markt. History, mulled wine, and German inspiration come together in their Castle Garden for a weekend of gift-finding and craft-making. You can browse more than 45 small-scale makers, visit a mini craftsmanship exhibition, and munch on German snacks (Thurs-Sun, $12+ for adults, $2 for children under 15, Dupont Circle). “Rules for Living” at Round House Theatre. If you’re looking to laugh your way into the holidays, then Rules for Living—a comedic play that had a hit debut in London—is a good option.  The production gives theatergoers a front-row seat to the mayhem of family gatherings and Christmas meltdowns (through January 4, $50+, Bethesda). Stroll through 500,000 dazzling lights at the Washington DC Temple (Thurs-January 1, free, Kensington). Shop a selection of Nordic books, sweaters, cheeses, coffee, chocolates, and linens at the Norwegian Festival (Fri-Sun, free, but registration required for indoors, walk-ins limited, Fairfax). Discover traditional Native arts, beadwork, sculptures, and more at the Native Art Market (Sat, free, Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian). Theater and shows: See Pakistani American theater director Adil Mansoor’s Amm(i)gone— an adaptation of classic play Antigone that explores his personal journey (Thurs-Sat, $35 for adults, $15 for youth and students, College Park). Get ready to laugh at all-things holiday with the Washington Improv Theater at Studio Theatre (Fri through December 28, $20, Logan Circle).
