A key mixed-use property on Broad Street in New Orleans, anchored by Whole Foods Market, has changed hands following a transaction facilitated by SVN | Urban Properties.
The New Orleans-based commercial brokerage represented the buyer in the acquisition of 300 N. Broad Street, known as The ReFresh Project. The multi-tenant property also houses The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine at Tulane University, FirstLine Schools, Boys Town Louisiana, Broad Community Connections, and a community garden operated by SPROUT NOLA.
Originally opened in 2014, The ReFresh Project was redeveloped from a former Schweggman’s grocery store into a community-focused health hub. Its tenants continue to advance initiatives such as fresh food access, culinary and nutrition education, youth and workforce development, and urban gardening.
The seller, Refresh Commercial, is a partnership between Alembic Community Development, a New York-based development firm with a New Orleans office, and Broad Community Connections, a local nonprofit focused on neighborhood revitalization and community empowerment along Broad Street.
John Crisler, partner and managing director at SVN | Urban Properties, said the transaction reflected strong collaboration between all parties involved. Adviser Sam Hurley added that he appreciated the opportunity to help facilitate the deal.
“This was a great deal for everyone involved,” Crisler said. “Both buyer and seller were incredible to work with, and their collaboration made this a successful transaction.”
