A Camp Pendleton Marine died during training Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 3, base officials announced.
The Marine, who will not be identified until next of kin have been notified, was in a tactical vehicle at the time of the incident, said a spokesperson from the I Marine Expeditionary Force. The Marin
e died as a result of injuries sustained, he said.
The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m., the spokesperson said. There were no further details provided about where on the base the death occurred or what type of training was being done.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation, the spokesperson said
