Mrs. Marvel Emmett King Davis of New Haven, Connecticut, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025. She was 84 years old. Marvel was born in Blakely, Georgia, on January 30, 1941 to proud parents Marcellus and Eulalia King. She married Reid Davis in 1966 in New Haven and later gave birth to t hree sons: Michael, Mark, and Matthew. She is survived by her loving husband Reid Davis and son Mark.  Marvel graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Seton Hall School of Nursing in 1962.  After working for many years as a Registered Nurse, Marvel returned to school to further her education. She ultimately received a Master’s of Science from the Yale University School of Nursing, as she transitioned beautifully into the role of a clinician. Her specialty was Psychiatric Nursing, which she practiced for over twenty years.  Throughout her long distinguished career, Marvel worked at Connecticut Mental Health Center, Greater Bridgeport Community Mental Health Center, Aetna Insurance Company, and finally Yale-New Haven Hospital from which she retired in 2004.  Marvel was a bright light for all those who encountered her smile and were comforted by her care.
