NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Two additional Rogers High School students have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault on a student with severe impairments. According to the Newport Police Department, two male Rogers High School students were arrested Monday and charged with assault against t he same victim. The suspects are 14 and 17-years-old. The first arrest was made Friday when a 16-year-old male Rogers student was charged with two counts of felony assault on persons with severe impairments. A second 16-year-old male Rogers student was arrested Saturday and charged with assault. The alleged incident occurred in a school locker room, and police began their investigation after viewing cellphone videos of the alleged assault.
